Description
First i´ve modeled the box to adjust the correct brightness of my area light. The Cup itself is a simple Lathe Object. The most difficult part of this image was ( like almost ever) the lighting. The biggest problem was that either the cup in the foreground was totaly overexposured and the ball was ok or the foreground cup was ok and the ball was ugly dark. Cause my philosopy is not to fake anything, i´ve forbidden me to fake the materialbrightness. So i´ve spend sometime to find a material that i could apply to both part of the image. this was finally a sss material. Final Rendersize was 300dpi @ DIN A4 (3507 * 2480) and took about 3 hours to render on 2 P4´s (3Ghz/3GB RAM + 1Ghz/1GB RAM)Please have a look at my other 3d stills here:
